FOR THE NOVICE, THE EXPERIENCED AND TO ASSESSMENT

It is envisaged that at the end of this course of training the trainee operator will be able to answer questions on & perform the following:

  • Have a basic understanding of the industry, the dangers of working in the industry &their responsibilities as a plant operator

  • Have a working knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook for the particular machine to be used

  • Be able to locate and identify major components of the machine & explain their functions

  • Be able to identify and locate how to use the remote control

  • Conduct all pre-operational checks in accordance with the manufacturers and legislative requirements

  • Identify and maintain appropriate PPE

  • Safely mount and dismount the crusher

  • Star & stop the engine ,belts, feeder, jaws/hammers safely

  • Configure the machine for travel and manoeuvre it safety  across varying terrain

  • Conduct all the necessary safety checks at the work area

  • Explain the different types of crusher, the advantages & disadvantages of using & how they crush desired material

  • Communicate with loading operator establishing agreed signs, desired product size and production speed

  • Carry out emergency stop safety precautions

  • Carry out crushing tasks

  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of loading and unloading procedures for crusher transportation

  • Environmental considerations

  • Carry out all end of shift and shut down procedures

  • Explain different types of screeners, their advantages and disadvantages of use, how they segregate the desired material

  • Communicate with the loading operator establishing agreed signs, desired product size & production speed

  • Carry out emergency stop/ safety  precautions

  • Carry out screening tasks

  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of loading and un-loading procedures for screener transportation

  • Environmental considerations

  • Carry out all end of shift and shut down procedures
